Are we a nation of gun nuts?

As President Bush is in Holland today wooing all my friends to the dark side, he won't be talking about the 19 types of assault weapons that I can purchase starting today.

A 10-year-old law (remember the Brady Bill?) banning these automatic assault weapons expires today [BBC Coverage] because congress won't schedule a debate to keep it. Who controls both House and Senate? Oh yeah.

wooing all of your friends to the dark side, huh? :) oh how I love election year!

I unfortunately won't be joining *Presidential bliss* today due to lovely engagements with the Education Department. blah blah blah. :) (I'd rather be listening to the Pres.)

how your drive back went well!

How many times has John Kerry been to Captain Sundae's?

John Kerry wouldn't come to Holland because the close-minded folks here would just jeer and not listen to him. It would be a wasted trip.

Why is Bush here? Energize the base. West Michigan as a number of historically republican folks with a lot of money. Coming here reminds them to vote, because MI is a big time swing state this year, and open their pocket books.

But I can't criticize Bush alone. Kerry goes to places like metro Detroit for the same reasons. But seriously, do you really think Bush wanted a Tommy Turtle, or was it just some PR flack who did his homework?

Hooray for The President and Congrees, for standing up for all of us law abiding gun owners!

A criminal has never sought to own a gun legally!

You and I do not even need assault weapons. Also, more guns will not make us safer. That's just silly. That's my opinion, plain and simple.
